BAMS – Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery is a professional degree focused on Ayurveda offered in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Ayurveda is a type of alternative medicine, and the study of Ayurveda is pseudoscientific while the practice can be classified as protoscience or unscientific.
Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery is an undergraduate-level medical program based on ancient Ayurveda methods of healing. Candidates who could not make it to the MBBS program due to the hefty fee can opt for the BAMS program. The average fee of the BAMS is economic. Candidates can opt for postgraduate programs in Ayurveda medicine after successful completion of the BAMS program. It provides numerous careers in the field of medical sciences. The admission committee grants admission to the BAMS degree after candidates qualify in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) entrance exam.
It is mandatory for aspirants to fulfil certain eligibility conditions to get admission to the BAMS course. Below, we mention some basic BAMS eligibility criteria.

Candidates must pass the Class 12 or equivalent examination with science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) and English core in both Class 11 and 12 from a recognized board.

He/she should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission.

An aspirant from the general category needs to secure an aggregate of 50% in their Class 12 Board examination. While, for SC/ST/OBC candidates, the qualifying percentage is 40%

Candidates need to have qualified NEET by securing a minimum qualifying cutoff percentile to get admission in BAMS course, which can be checked in the table below.

For foreign students, any other equivalent qualification approved by the University will be allowed.

Therefore, candidates are required to qualify for NEET conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). AYUSH Admissions Central Counselling Committee plays a crucial role in the allotment process of seats in Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Siddha, and Homeopathy colleges.
In order to be admitted to the BAMS course, candidates are required to secure the NEET cutoff percentile.
